Bobby Brandes Memorial Tournament

Robert Orrin Brandes, Jr., SMC 1970  at Alpha Mu Chapter,
University of Georgia, passed away on June 22, 2021. Bobby was an
outstanding brother and friend. He was the epitome of what Friendship,
Love and Truth ( ɸɸΚΑ )mean.


While serving as SMC, the Pikes retained their Governor's
Trophy for the third consecutive year with the best record of intramural
sports of all fraternities on campus. During his time, Pi Kappa Alpha
grew significantly and rose to prominence on campus, where it continues
to this day. He remained active as a Pike alumnus and especially loved
the annual Pike Alumni Golf Tournament. To honor him, the chapter and
tournament committee have changed the name to the Bobby Brandes Memorial
Golf Tournament. Funds raised from the tournament help fund chapter
needs and scholarships.
